Mini Apartment (Sleeps 2)
500 per month
We are a family of three who relocated to Portugal from the UK - and we love it! We enjoy providing a springboard for those looking to find their own place or a quiet space for those taking a break.
Guests can benefit from our wealth of knowledge of our experiences moving to rural Portugal, the life, the bureaucracy and what makes it all worth it for us.
The Village
The village is wonderful all year but highlights are two big village festivals; one in
mid-August and the other to celebrate wine harvest Vindimas usually on 2nd
week in September. You can also visit on
the second Sunday after Easter to see the 1km long flower carpet through the
village; well worth a visit!.
Nature
Guests have shared access to our family garden, which is
wild and in constant change. We love the many wild creatures we see here,
including bats, woodpeckers, fireflies, eagles and the javali (wild boar) – who have been responsible for ploughing up the garden! We are restoring it to its former glory and we invite you to share it.
Explore
Surrounding Lamas are many walks, forests, caves, castles, rivers, river-beaches and of course the picturesque city of Coimbra.
Coimbra University, home to bats who keep the bookworms at bay (20 min), or the Medieval Fayre at Penela castle in mid-May (10min), a feast for the eyes, ears and the stomach!
Flavours
Enjoy this wine-producing region, local cheeses, 'real' veggies from the neighbours, delicious honey, and more! There is a great village cafe, bakery and now even a shop just 3 mins walk from our door. Savour fresh bread from the local baker or there might even be a slice of cake from Mrs. Badger's Kitchen! Just ask us for more details.
